Something New
You know? I was thinking of posting on an old thread someone else started ages ago. But I thought it would a whole LOT better if I just started something new. Adding onto something old would be boring (not saying our topics have ever been boring in the past). So here it is!
So an update about me. Do you guys want to know?
Well I'm getting more into acting. By that I mean I have improved, I'm less shy about acting out emotions and acting like a complete random idiot, my voice acting has improved, I'm not afraid of constructive criticism anymore. I could go on, but I've forgotten. Oh! Well, my acting teacher (actually I like to call her an acting coach) is also a casting director for a movie called Jackson's Run (it'll be out Spring 2013). Well since I'm her student, she cast me and some of the other students to be extras in the movie. Well since she is the casting director, she didn't need to be there right away when filming started. Well, sadly she couldn't get a hold of the producer or director (who happen to be good friends of hers). Because of that, we decided to stay home until we heard back from them. Filming began June 1st and we still haven't heard anything. Filming ends in just a few days (around the 17th or 18th).
I am disappointed that I didn't get to go, but I'm not worried about it because my teacher is a casting director and she can easily cast me into something else. Even if she didn't have that kind of connection, I wouldn't be worried about it.
Also, I went to pet grooming school from October - December 2011 and then graduated on January 3, 2012. ^^ But here's the weird part. I went job hunting all spring, probably from March to May. I found out that no one would hire me just because I WENT to school and got proper training! I learned that pet salons look down on those who have been professionally trained like I have. o.0 They prefer to take someone off the street, someone who has never been to school, hire them and then train them. o.o Can you believe it? So now I'm stuck being unemployed again. x.x;; This is why I'm thankful of having my acting thing right now.
Oh FYI professional schooling is not required to become a pet groomer.
That's what all that I've been up to lately. Sorry this is so long. lol

Re: Something New
Wow, you would think that people would want to hire someone who got some training in pet grooming. Go figure, right?
I'm sorry to hear that you weren't able to be in the movie. But wow, less than 3 weeks of filming? That's pretty fast.
As for me, I thought summer would give me a chance to relax and catch up on stuff I wanted to be able to do. Unfortunately, summer has become more hectic for me.
I am currently taking my last English class this summer online. It is English Literature so I get to analyze poems and short stories and a drama. It should be pretty fun.
I am still working for my church as a choir director. Last year, I became the school's choir director as well. I loved it! I had about 33 kids in the choir and they were all great. Unfortunately though, I may have to give up the school job because I recently got hired for a full time job as the office management specialist for TTSR. They work with the developed mentally handicapped community.
So basically, this is what my schedule looks like:
1st & 2nd Sunday of the month:
3rd Sunday of the month:
4th Sunday of the month:
Mondays:
Tuesdays:
1st and 2nd Wednesdays of the month:
3rd and 4th Wednesdays of the month:
1st and 2nd Thursdays of the month:
3rd Thursday of the month:
4th Thursday of the month:
1st, 3rd and 4th Fridays of the month:
2nd Friday of the month:
1st and 2nd Saturdays of the month:
[list][*]Choir practice @ 10:00am - noon
[*]Filco @ 1:00pm - 6:30pm
3rd and 4th Saturdays of the month:
This isn't counting the upcoming Christmas practices as well as a special upcoming Service in September so I will have to fit in more practices.
Anyway, I need to go and get ready for practice tonight, lol. I shall, hopefully, see more replies to this when I get back!

Re: Something New
WOW!! You practically live at church and TTSR! I now feel bad for complaining about being bored all the time.
Re: Something New
Yea Zelda that is one crazy schedule. But my dad always said, [Forrest Gump accent] "Stayin' busy keeps you out of trouble!" Hurrah to church stuff. Find yourself a good church in stay active: good motive. And I'm glad that you are a good actress, Malon. I've seen some good acting around my home as well. The high school that I recently graduated from takes pride in their excellent Fine Arts department. We even have a few famous alumni (like some dude that used to be on SNL). And an amazing world class violinist/guitarist (Jordan Urbach) jammed with some of the band members IN CLASS.
As life for me, I'm sorta bored but I guess I gotta find stuff to do. I graduated, I became an Eagle Scout, did my first job at a Christian camp in Middle Tennessee for a week (camp counselor), and got accepted to University of Memphis. My college life will consist of trumpet playing in the marching band and computer engineering. Yay! Perhaps I can do work-study also. But I have most of my tuition paid off already. Thank you public schools for bein' so affordable! I wouldn't survive if I went to a private school. I fear debt, for I do not even have a job yet, but it will all work out soon enough.
